Last month, officers began investigating reports of child sexual abuse material being uploaded online by a resident of Harmon Cove Towers, Secaucus police said in a release.
A 15-year-old possessed over 900 images/videos depicting child sexual abuse material, a police investigation revealed. The boy was actively “trading” the images/videos depicting child sexual abuse material with other people, police said. Some of these images/videos depicted preschool, grade school and teenage children, police said. At this time it is unknown if any of the children depicted in these images/videos are known to the boy, police said.
The boy was charged as a juvenile with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and two counts of invasion of privacy for taking and sharing an intimate photo of a woman without her consent, police said.
The boy was lodged at Bergen County Juvenile Detention Center, police said. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
